Releasing on April 29th worldwide is a Nike Dunk High that captures the spirit of the 1980s with the help of the Los Angeles purple and gold. Dubbed the Nike Dunk High EMB (or embossed), this new concept on the trendiest sneaker of 2021 features the brand’s namesake done in that Laker typeface via an embossed embroidery at the heel. More of that vintage athletics aesthetic is featured on the throwback logos on the tongue, mimicking the visual direction held by the Swoosh during that competitive era of training sportswear.
The upper of these Dunks pairs that aforementioned purple and gold in leather, while a black canvas/denim twill is featured on the mid-panel, ankle, and toe-box. The sunburst perforations on the toe also seem to express an embossed affect, although that could just be a by-product of the punctures.
