The Nike Blazer Mid debuted in 1976 and is still being reinvented through collaborations. In light of many deconstructed designs showing up on popular silhouettes (shoutout Virgil Abloh and Sacai), the Japanese label, READYMADE, brought a similar flare to the Blazer to add to its legacy.
The Nike Blazer Mid READYMADE Black delivers an avant-garde approach to the traditional basketball sneaker. For starters, the upper is constructed with a mix of second-hand camouflage and foam materials for a more environmentally-conscious sneaker. Continuing the sustainable theme, the sole is constructed with 15% of Nike Grind rubber, a collection of scraps from worn sneakers and leftover rubber repurposed to create new products. READYMADE’s latest creation is ready to reduce the wearer’s carbon footprint, while at the same time introducing new territory for the famous Blazer model.
